Last time I updated this blog was two years ago. And I was advertising the tours are back. And whoa! So many tours have happened since. And I learned how to broadcast them via video format for TikTok and Instagram. They’ve became popular. Very popular.
One of my latest has over 100k views in all platforms and it was the simplest yet. This one with TK the writer:
And other older ones of bachelor parties garnered more than 200k on TikTok:
Which in total means that my videos have been seen more than a million times. And I can tell.
Now when I walk the streets of Tijuana people will shout at me TOUR GUY! Or from other shit that they know me from. And I’m always roaming the streets of Tijuana looking for the best and latest beers and food items. There have been way too many places opening lately…
Tijuana is always changing. Even if you toured me with a couple of years ago, a lot has changed then.
Norte is still there. I still almost always go to Norte for the beers and views. My book cover happened at Norte. And it is one of my tourists’ favorite spot.

I always say I’m going to retire from doing tours… 12 years later. I’m still doing tours. Well… I have retired from time to time. I’ve gotten real jobs that kept me away from tours. The pandemic also kept me away from tours. I’m not sure how many more tours I can do. And that’s why…
More expensive!
For the past few years it’s been $150 for 1-4 people for the 6 hour tour, expenses are on you. Tijuana has gotten pricier. I’ve been getting more jobs. I am getting pricier.
New prices.
1-4 people for 6 hours = $200.
5-6 people for 6 hours = $250.
7-10 people for 6 hours = $300.
Expenses are on you.
If you need transportation, there is an extra fee.
OMG SO EXPENSIVE! Is it, really? A lot of comments say they are. It’s a fair price for me. A lot of the comments say they will also do it for free. You can do that if you want.
I’ve been doing tours for 12 years and it’s been close to 200 tours so far. I never counted but I’m sure it’s been around 200 tours. And yes, a lot of them have gone to Hong Kong. That is an extra fee. I can’t go there that often. I get recognized everywhere and it’s odd to be recognized there. I can take you around and then leave.

New follower or user who has seen my shit on social media! It’s me! Matingas! This is my tour website that I should treat seriously. The tours page needs an update and the merch page needs… well… more merch.
Time to make money. I might hire a different tour guide soon and keep the same price. He has been my replacement tour guide a handful of times and I trust him. I tried hiring people as hosts to do walking tours before, but that didn’t last long. I was young and didn’t have a business mind. I need to have a better business mind to make this work.
Yes. I have a lot of fun in my tours. But work is work. And in my other jobs I get $25-30 an hour. So my tours should be similar.
