Avenida Revolución, AKA la Revu, is different. It’s always changing, but this a major update. Besides the shitty new arch that they unveiled last year and closing the street to traffic… now there is no more street.
I took a piece of it. For more than 100 years, Avenida Revolución has allowed traffic. The sidewalks got expanded little by little to finally take over the street in 2025. At least two blocks of it. Fourth and Fifth street are now walkways.
It’s good for tours. It’s good in general… but I feel like it destroys the essence of Tijuana and the main avenue. Motorcycle groups, low riders, XVeras riding limousines, and more… won’t happen.
I did a video about the change. It has thousands of views. I’m not sure if I like it for the city. There is something about riding your car or motorcycle down the famous Avenida Revolución. It seems… generic. Like a new Santa Monica promenade or infinite cities with the same idea. It’s going to be full of people panhandling. I can’t wait to see Elmo or a Naked Cowboy. There is already a Deadpool, Gold Soldier Statue, Pikachu, Captain Sparrow, and more appear every week.
I’m sure there will be a lot of talented people as well. Many exist. Edgar, the chalk guy, Naitoreido is one of the best street artists in town, there are some great musicians… but I fear that it will also attract a bunch of shitty panhandlers with no talent.
Some city ordinances should be done, but none will happen. Tijuana.
This city will become more generic. Avenida Revolución soon will be just like any other, with Starbucks and other chain restaurants. Where Verde y Crema used to be is going to be a Torta Plaza. Other places will follow.

Going Beyond Downtown – Landmark
First of… stupid fucking busses. Whoever decide to put sideways seats on a bus needs to be put down. Like WTF?! It doesn’t fit more people. It’s way more uncomfortable. It’s LESS safe. If I’m standing… my middle section is on the face of the person sitting down. It’s BEYOND HORRIBLE. WHO THE FUCK DID THIS?!
And holy ffff. This city changes so fast. “I was going to Soriana to buy some stuff… and it’s no longer there,” said a friend who visits Tijuana once or twice a year.
Yep. That Soriana is gone. And in front of Landmark they are building a round thing that I don’t recognize. And there are SO MANY NEW FUCKING BUILDINGS… and they all look empty that windows are dusty as fuck. Or less than 20% occupied. And most likely by Airbnbs or people staying temporarily. Who wants to live in a mall?!

But Landmark is dope. Mostly because they have a bowling alley that’s more than decent. 480 pesos to play for an hour, shoes not included, pay an extra 50 pesos. Tuesdays are half-off, so I’m going to be there every Tuesday while they have that discount. I love bowling and miss it so much. I did horrible. My best game was 117. Girlfriend didn’t do good either but she enjoyed herself and that’s all I care about.
The movie theater is also cheap as f. We planned to go in but didn’t. Next time, Landmark, next time.
I also visited Mochomos before and thought it was delicious, but all the other restaurants look empty and sad. I don’t think Mochomos will last either…
And though I hate malls… Landmark is okay (it’s better than Peninsula, mostly because of bowling).
Forastero Review
So many burgers I have to try… I was going to try Agredanos Burger at Landmark but didn’t feel like recording myself or doing content. So I didn’t. Instead I had a good croque monsieur from Maison Kayser (a chain Parisian restaurant).
I just got a message about going to a new burger place. I get so many comments and messages about new burger places to try. There are more than 20…
And I went to Forastero… It was Sunday and we weren’t doing much so we decided to check out the bar inside a house in La Cacho because my girlfriend’s friend was selling her merch there. I felt old. Most people were in their 20s. But the house is very nice. I would live there instead of having a business (or both). It used to be Lucky House, a Chinese restaurant with craft beer that I never visited because it look quite shitty.
Now it’s a craft beer and pub food space. Wings were decent for Mexico, but I can almost guarantee it was Tyson chicken with Red Hot sauce and Costco BBQ sauce. The fries were above average.

The burger was okay just a tad dry. The meat properly spiced but there wasn’t enough sauce. And it was missing onions and pickles which seem standard on smash burgers. The bread was also a bit dry but not horrible.
They had a great line-up beers and though the place was packed, the patio was big enough and cool enough that there are no complains.
Forastero is passable. Though it just seems like another house in La Cacho converted into a pub similar to Public House and other places in the neighborhood. Not bad, but nothing special. I guess the special thing is that the staff has to dress up like cowboys and it’s quite chic.
But… I wouldn’t put it on my top 5 list of burgers in town. Just passable.
Tour Review – You never know what you get!
I had a tour on Saturday. I expected three guys in their 40s. I got a guy and two women in their 50s. I didn’t ask their age, but at least a decade older than me.
It was a lovely tour. I talked a lot like always. All the Tijuana history. All about Baja. I get better at it each time. Especially for older folk. I have to do a video of it soon.
I like touring older people the best. They don’t drink as much. They are more interested in history. They seem to love and be surprised by everything. And I get a nice tip.
Maybe I don’t have to quit being a tour guide. Just quit doing extreme tours. The tours calm down more each year.
Tijuana’s true Adventure will come to its natural conclusion.
During the tour we visited Caesar’s Restaurant, La Cevicheria Nais, we did a bunch of walking and history about the city. We also went to Playas for more walking, pictures, and history. Then back to downtown to wait for the line back to the border to calm down but it never did… there was more than an hour wait. My customers decided to pay the $10 each to ride the bus that takes you across the border. It’s not my first customers to do so and the busses seem to be a good thing to save time, this is what Ken had to say:
“👍🏽for the bus. We waited 10 minutes on bus, then just 20 more minutes to get through line. We recommend!”
I thanked him for coming on a Tijuana Adventure and he sent me the rest of my payment with this nice comment:
“So easy, thank you for everything today. We had a great time and will recommend you to everyone”
I also had a great time, Ken and friends!
I want more tours like this. Twice a week if possible. And I’ll continue to create Tijuana content for y’all.
